Using Policy Helper

Policy Helper is an independent service for exploring Oregon legislation and related public records. These terms govern your use of the service. If you do not agree to them, do not use the service. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.

Research information and source records

The service is not affiliated with the State of Oregon. Summaries, excerpts, relevance matches, and generated analyses help you research public records; they are not legal, tax, financial, or professional advice. No professional-client relationship is created by using the service.

Records may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. Bills change, proposed provisions may never become law, and enactment does not establish an effective date or applicability to you. A match to your interests is not a determination of your obligations. Check the linked official version and obtain appropriate professional advice before acting. Campaign contributions do not establish why an official voted.

Accounts, interests, and email

You can browse and apply interests without an account. Account saving and some additional analysis require sign-in. Keep your sign-in credentials secure and use an account you are authorized to control.

Applying interests, saving interests, and subscribing to email are separate actions. Email updates, when available, require an explicit opt-in. You can stop them through your interests settings or the unsubscribe link in a message. Delivery and complete coverage of legislative events are not guaranteed.

Your submissions

Submit only information you are entitled to provide. Avoid confidential client information, credentials, and sensitive personal information in descriptions, reports, or research notes. You retain your rights in your submissions and permit the service to process and store them as needed to provide the features you request, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Research notes you intentionally attach to public bill pages may be visible to other visitors. Do not include private information or represent unofficial material as an official record. You are responsible for your submissions and for respecting other people’s rights.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt unauthorized access, bypass access controls, interfere with the service, upload malicious material, impersonate others, or use the service unlawfully. Do not run requests that disrupt access for other users. Access may be limited or suspended to address abuse, security issues, or operational problems.

Third-party material and services

Official documents, third-party research, linked websites, and service providers may have their own terms and policies. Their inclusion does not transfer ownership of their material or imply endorsement. Follow the applicable source terms when reusing material.

Availability and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without warranties of accuracy, completeness, uninterrupted availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. You remain responsible for decisions made using its information. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

Changes

Features and these terms may change. The date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be identified on the service. Changes do not remove rights you have under applicable law.

Contact

A public contact address has not yet been confirmed. The service currently has no contact channel for privacy requests beyond the controls described above.
